Meeting with Yourself

When nature is presented as a work of art, the viewers face the world that emerges from the anonymity of nature. By making natural objects appear in the realm of artistic expression, I observe the being and function of nature.

This mass production/information society has a continuous connection that does not allow it to be broken down into discrete parts. The art that is placed in that society can no longer have a single, absolutely independent meaning. This is because viewer's perspective of appreciating art is always affected by the information of this mass society. By representing objects that are not arbitrarily created by humans - natural objects - as artwork, they shift from a state of presence to a condition of existence. However, when the piece of nature loses its essence of having no meaning by being exhibited, can it continue to be it?

The idea of the circuit is that the visitors can touch the materials and hear its voice.​

Pea key, Clementimbre (2021) are the prototypes of the circuit consist of Capacitive sensor library and tone function on Arduino. However, tone function only generates 8bit and it's monophonic so I combined capacitive sensor with 4 voice wavetable synth that DZL created in 2018 to make it polyphonic and richer in sound design (it, 2021).
